The last few months of 2016 have absolutely flown bye and since my last update in September I have been busy embarking on my goal of gaining a European Tour for 2017. After wrapping up my card on the China Tour early in 2016, I was able to progress my career by heading to European Qualifying School in October and November.
After successfully negotiating my way through the first and second stages in France and Spain. I ended up a few shots short of my goal of a top 25 finish at Final stage. Despite the disappointment, It was a successful first effort at European Q school having came through all the stages to make it to Final.
Through reaching Final stage I was able to take up membership on the European Challenge Tour for 2017 and will expect to gain anywhere from 10-12 starts on the upcoming season.
2017 will start in mid January with 3 events in Victoria. From there I hope to play in both the Perth super six event and the New Zealand Open in March.
The Challenge Tour commences in late March with the Kenya Open. There is around 26-30 events on the Challenge Tour in 2017 and my goal is to play my way onto the tour and ultimately finish in the Top 15 at the end of the year. This would see me qualify for the European Tour in 2018.
I trust you have all had a great Christmas with family and friends and are all recharging the batteries for an even bigger 2017. I am certainly enjoying a break after what can only be described as a hectic end to 2016. I look back at the year with some great memories and excitement at what the future holds. I thank you all for the continued support and interest in my career.
Wishing you safe and Happy New Year.
