Melbourne- Training Block

I’ve been home a week now from my last event in China, playing the Yunnan Open. I have spent this time in Melbourne working with my support team. I’ve been putting in the hours at the gym and on the range with a real focus on improving my basics.

I use this time to focus on the most important aspects of my fundamentals and practice with this as my main target. This always involves breaking down the swing/move and focusing on its single parts. A lot of this work is done without a golf club and instead in front of a mirror, focusing on repeating the correct movement and feels. I also work through exercises both in the gym and warm up’s to transfer these movements into my full swing.

I cover these basics off before every practice session and tournament round. These basic fundamentals are ‘calibrated’ to ensure my swing and feels are repetitive under all situations.
